This really is a jewel in the Caribbean. It is an extremely private, yet accessible property to just about anywhere you want to be on the island. If it’s a quiet bay without anyone except for the occasional tropical creature, or a journey into the interior, this is the place to stay at. There are three lovely unspoilt beaches in the area that you’ll have to yourselves all within walking distance of this property.
We spent 9 days in this delightful house, which has breathtaking sea views from the owner’s lovely well-stocked garden. It was fun trying to identify which tree and plant was what. If you are birdlife fans, then this spot is awash of many tropical birds. Beautiful tiny hummingbirds fly in and out of the frangipani, as do minor birds, mocking birds, robins and the rare and endangered Grenadian doves come to this property every evening to feed.
It is very well equipped and well stocked. You have everything you need to rustle up a meal or two, particularly since the property manager organises some shopping before you arrive! We were extremely comfortable, and well looked after by the housekeeper.
The design of the house is unique, full of light, sun and air with an enclosed pool, which is open to the stars if you fancy a very private midnight swim or that sought after all over tan!!! Or a shady and cool corner from the heat of the tropical sun. Wi-fi is available, as well as cable TV and a DVD player. All you really need is your beach towel and sarong.
If you’re looking for the world famous Grand Anse beach as well as many other small coves, these are easily reached by hired car or public transport. St Georges is only 15 mins away. The area is well served by restaurants from simple pizza places to Gary Rhodes at The Calabash, a couple of minutes down the road.
If you want a relaxing holiday where you can suit yourself then this could well be the place for you. Would I recommend this holiday rental to my best friend? Absolutely!
What a Gem! – reviewed April 2016
My husband and I stayed in this lovely Villa for three weeks in March, the weather was glorious. We had a wonderful time. The Villa is located at Lance Aux Epines in a residential area surrounded by other lovely properties. It is a beautiful part of the Island, very quiet and tranquil.. The Villa is charming, it stands in its own grounds with a lovely garden, it is very secure and we felt safe all times.. It has two bedrooms and is kept spotlessly clean by Janet who is a real treasure. It was a home from home for us with everything and more that you could possibly need.. The furniture was very comfortable and well looked after and the added bonus was the large plunge pool where we spent a lot of time.. The booking process was easy, the owner was very helpful, answering all our questions promptly. We were picked up at the airport and taken to the villa (charge for this service) our driver Natalie was really good, she stopped at the supermarket for us to buy some groceries which was a great help. We also used her for another trip to the supermarket during our stay There are a few local beaches within five/ten minutes walk, we thought the nicest was at the university club where you can use their facilities as long as you buy a drink. We think the best beach on the Island is Grand Anse, we spent many a happy hour here.( car needed) We hired a car for part of our stay and toured all round the Island. Road signs are practically non existent, but we had all day so it did not matter. We also used Mandoo’s Tour and Taxi service for a private day tour. We wanted to see the real Grenada and Mandoo did not disappoint, he was an amazing gentleman, like a walking encyclopaedia, we saw parts of the Island that tourists would not know about, the highlight of the day was seeing and feeding a Mona monkey. Well worth the money, we would certainly recommend Mandoo. We ate at some lovely restaurants. The University Club was our favourite, less than five minutes walk from the Villa. Calabash and Rhodes Restaurants were also good.. We would not recommend the Marina at Prickly Bay, we had a terrible meal here. We loved the Villa and Grenada, the smell of the spices and the wonderful flowers were amazing, it’s a beautiful Island and the people are lovely. We would recommend the Villa to anyone. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home.
A wonderful home in the sun – reviewed January 2017
A lovely home in a serene residential area, suitable for early morning walks or afternoon jogging. A mile walk to the local beach, an excellent scuba outfit, and a handful of nice restaurants, but do consider renting a car or be prepared to negotiate the local bus system, because the rest of the island as well as the grocery shopping is a hilly distance away. The house itself was clean and delightful with an indoor pool in the patio area. The owner helped us organize and arrange our whole stay, from car rental to pick up at the airport, to first night’s shopping waiting for us in the fridge. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Perfect location for first time visit – revised February 2017
The owner was very helpful with all questions we had about the villa, the island and everything else we wanted to know. The villa is very near the St Georges University Club which we made good use of as long as we used their restaurant and bar they were ok with us using their facilities. The restaurant was lovely, great food and lunch was also served on the beach. The villa itself is completely enclosed, the pool area is in a central courtyard with a grill over the top, so there aren’t any views as such from the villa . The villa has everything you need for a couple or small family. there are two bedrooms which are interconnecting as well as having their own sliding patio doors to the central pool area. Both bedrooms have air con and modern ensuite bath/shower rooms.
The Bullen Home Grenada – reviewed April 17
Absolutely delightful family who were very professional during the booking and also in providing all the travel information we required. The staff and our lovely lady who ran the taxi service where always looking to make our stay comfortable and fun! The house had everything we needed with complete privacy including the courtyard with patio and pool. Great location almost next door to the St Georges University Club and its a great place to hang out at during the day providing you eat and drink there, they let you use their olympic size pool as well as lazing on their very secluded and unpacked beach. Your own little tropical paradise. From the house there are any number of beaches to choose from. A car ride to the famous Grand Anse beach. Or explore the island and find some other secluded tropical beaches of your own. The house is very comfortable, clean and a great spot to discover this gem of an island from. Would go again asap! Thanks Everyone
